This talk is about the history and evolution of semiconductor technology co-optimization with design, tool, architecture, and system. It also touches on the newly vivid development of high-end co-optimization chips and goes deeper into the recently announced TSMC 3nm FinFlex technology with disruption on conventional EDA physical design algorithms.
报告人介绍:
Kai-Yuan (Kevin) Chao received the M.S.E. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, TX, USA, in 1992 and 1995, respectively.
Dr. Chao is currently with Hong Kong Research Center, Huawei Technology Investment. He has been with Skymizer, Taiwan, in new business and technology programs. Dr. Chao has worked with Intel, Oregon, USA, for many leading CPUs from P6B to 14nm Broadwell as well as, for micro-server, memory, and chipset in Data Center Group Cloud Silicon Division. He has worked with Synopsys as the RD Group Director for Technology Pathfinding in Strategic Programs. Dr. Chao also advised few successful software, EDA, and thermal solution companies. He has coauthored more than 60 technical papers and two book chapters in the areas of VLSI/CAD, packaging, and radiology. His current research interests include: computing 3DIC, cross-domain xTCO intelligent architectural system, and 2D-material-based circuit application.
