Recent research activities at the Numerical and Applied Mathematics Research Unit

Abstract

The aim of this talk is to introduce the Numerical and Applied Mathematics Research Unit and four recent research projects involving the research unit.  This research unit was established in 2010.  The main work is to promote research in the areas of numerical and applied mathematics.  The four project involved are computational biology, aeronautical training network in aerodynamic noise, novel methods in computational finance, and decomposition methods.  Brief introduction is given of the background and the main work of these four projects.  Further details of the key research work involving Greenwich are also discussed.  It is hoped to open up further collaboration with Fuzhou University in terms of expanding the current research capabilities of the R & D centre at Fuzhou.
