Jason Gu
Dalhousie University
Presentation Title:
Robotics research in Canada
Abstract:In this talk, Dr. Gu’s gives an overview on Canada robotics research and development at Universities and in industry. He also outlines recent research work carried out by his research team in the areas of biomedical robotics, rehabilitation robotics, robotics tele-operation and control, surgical robotics, mobile robotics. Dr. Gu speaks of advanced research directions in the field of intelligent and autonomous robotics being carried out with industrial and government partners.
Jason Guis a professor in the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Dalhousie University. He received his B.S degree in Electrical Engineering and Information Science at the University of Science and Technology of China in 1992 and his Master’s degree from Biomedical Engineering at Shanghai Jiaotong University in 1995 and earned his Ph.D. degree in the area of Rehabilitation Medicine and Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2001. Since 2000, he has been with Electrical and Computer Engineering at DalhousieUniversity in Canada. Dr. Gu’s research areas include biomedical engineering, bio-signal processing, rehabilitation engineering, neural networks, robotics, mechatronics and control. Dr. Gu has published over 250 Journal, book chapters and conference papers. Dr. Gu was a recipient of best paper award in ICCSE 2003. He also was awarded Faculty of Engineering Teaching award in 2003, the outstanding IEEE Student Branch Councillor award in 2004, Discovery Award of the Province of Nova Scotia in Canada in 2005 and Faculty of Engineering Research award in 2006. He was the recipient of The Murugan Memorial Award in 2014 and won the best IEEE ICIA 2014 paper award. He received 2015 Canadian Atlantic Section distinguished service award. Dr. Gu is a Fellow of Engineering Institute of Canada.

李贻斌
山东大学控制科学与工程学院教授、博士生导师、副院长。现为山东大学控制科学与工程学院机器人研究中心主任、国家“863”计划先进工作者、山东省自动化学会副理事长。曾多次获得国家级和省级科学进步奖。研发出了中国第一台液压驱动四足仿生机器人样机,为中国机器人研究做出了重要贡献。
李贻斌教授2012年承担国家863计划课题,以骡/马动物的后腿关节为基本仿生对象,利用建立的运动学、逆运动学模型和步态规划算法,构造了符合现代仿生学的灵巧、大刚度、高负载、越障能力强的液压驱动四足仿生机器人。获国家科技进步二等奖1项,省科技进步一等奖1项、三等奖1项,省教学成果一等奖1项,山东省十大科技成果奖1项,国家煤炭工业十大科技成果1项。在国内外学术期刊和国际会议上发表的140篇论文中,EI占60余篇。

孙富春
清华大学计算机科学与技术系教授、博士生导师,国家自然科学基金杰出青年基金获得者,智能技术与系统国家重点实验室常务副主任、清华大学学术委员会委员、国家863计划专家、国家自然科学基金是视听觉认知计算重大研究计划指导专家组成员。国际刊物《IEEE Trans. On Neural Networks》、《Soft Computing》和《International Journal of Computational Intelligence Systems》编委、IEEE 控制系统学会国际会议编委会编委、IEEE控制系统学会智能控制技术委员会委员。
孙教授1998年3月在清华大学计算机应用专业获博士学位,1998年至2000年在清华大学自动化系从事博士后研究,2000年至今在清华大学计算机科学与技术系工作。工作期间获得的主要奖励有:2000年全国优秀博士论文奖,2001年国家863计划十五年先进个人,2002年清华大学\"学术新人奖\",2003年韩国第十八届Choon-Gang 国际学术奖一等奖第一名,2004年教育部新世纪人才奖,2005年清华大学校先进个人,2006年国家杰出青年基金。获奖成果6项,一项获2004年度北京市科学技术奖(理论类)二等奖(排名第一)、一项获2002年度教育部提名国家科技进步二等奖(排名第二)、四项获省部级科技进步三等奖。译书一部,专著两部,在国内外重要刊物发表或录用论文120余篇,其中在IEE、IEEE汇刊、Automatica等国际重要刊物发表论文50余篇,现有40余篇论文收入SCI,SCI期刊他人引用100余次,100多篇论文收入EI,有两篇论文曾被评为国内二级学会的最佳优秀论文奖。

Shin-Ming Liu
Chief Scientist, Intel Labs China
Shin-Ming Liu is the Chief Scientist of Intel Labs China based in Beijing, driving the research direction in autonomous systems.
Previously, Shin-ming was the Associate Director of China Intel IoT Joint Labs, focused on building a team culture that is highly effective in both system level research and development, and exploring new technologies and business model for IoT in China.
Before Joining Intel Labs China in the summer of 2013, Shin-Ming spent 2 years as director of the Storage OS Kernel Group in the Hewlett Packard Company. Earlier roles at HP included serving as director of Languages and Tools Labs. Shin-Ming joined HP in 2000 as manager of the High Level Optimization group in Compilers for Intel’s Itanium architecture. Shin-Ming's prior industry experience includes building the first production version of indexer of Google Search Engine, building the 64-bit compiler for SGI’s MIPSPro Compiler and the ANSI-C compiler for MIPS Technology. Earlier in his career, he held management roles at Athena Systems Inc. , technical lead role in EDA Systems Inc. and Senior Member of Technical Staff in Daisy Systems Inc.
Shin-Ming’s research interests are computer/system/software architecture, computer languages, compilers and software development ecosystem. His extensive career has earned Shin-Ming approximately 11 US patents in the areas of compiler optimizations and code generation for super-scalar architecture.
Shin-Ming earned his bachelor's degree in Biology from National Taiwan Normal University in 1977; his master's degree in computer science from Utah state University in 1984.

报告摘要:本报告主要介绍了中国搜索信息科技股份有限公司的发展历程和技术领域。公司作为国家在互联网领域重点建设的权威搜索引擎,承担着技术和媒体双重任务。以技术和内容为线索介绍了公司的技术架构和各类主要产品。以CBox、国搜通、国搜识图、智慧小区等产品或方案为例,介绍了公司自成立以来在智慧城市、互联网+、O2O、深度学习等领域的尝试,及所获得的经验等。最后展望了公司在互联网+,人工智能,智能交互等方向的发展规划。
简介:龙飞,2005年本科毕业于南京大学计算机科学与技术系,同年入清华大学计算机系直接攻读博士学位。2007年获得首批“国家建设高水平大学公派研究生项目”资助赴美国耶鲁大学进行网络流量工程相关研究。2010年毕业于清华大学,获工学硕士和博士学位。同年赴香港科技大学进行无线网状网络方面的博士后研究。2011年入职中国电子科技集团公司第五十四研究所,次年获高级工程师职称,任卫星网络方向多个国家重要科研项目的副总设计师和技术负责人,参与了国家天基网络架构等重大规划的论证。2013年加盟中国搜索信息科技股份有限公司,主持公司战略研发部工作,负责公司互联网创新性产品和大数据相关项目的研发。参与并主持了国搜识图、国搜语音助手、国搜通等人工智能产品的研发。主持上线了智慧城市、认证等垂直频道。2015年主持创建上海交大-中国搜索联合创新实验室,主要进行学术搜索相关研究。主要研究方向为网络路由、路由协议设计与优化、无线网状网络,近年涉足深度学习、数据挖掘领域。在国内外发表SCI和EI检索论文20余篇,软件著作权5项,著有中文专著1部,英文专著1部(Springer出版),译著2部。
